[Kansas City campus | Wichita campus]
The Appointments, Promotion and Tenure Committee makes recommendations to the Executive Dean and Dean of the Wichita campus concerning academic promotion and/or award of tenure for faculty members. Organizationally, the joint committee "School of Medicine Appointments, Promotion and Tenure Committee" has two constituent subcommittees, one on each campus. Members of the joint committee are also members of the campus committees.
The joint committee meets prior to the review process and after the process has been completed at the campus level. The pre-review meeting in late summer/early fall sets procedures and process issues for the review cycle. The second meeting in January reviews the recommendations from both campuses and develops the final recommendations to the respective Deans.
